BIOGRAPHY
Trevor formed his first band at the age of 16 years, playing drums and singing. It was known as “The Ramblers”. After a couple of years
playing Trevor was approached to sing at the Ballarat Civic Hall for Ivan Dayman Promotions.
The backing band was “The Vibratones”. It wasn’t long after that the he made his first television appearance on “Teentime” on BTV6. Soon
after he became compere appearing with Australia’s best performers. He was also performing on Ch10’s “Go Show”, and Ch 9 Adelaide’s
“Reg Lindsey’s Country Music Show”.
It wasn’t long before Trevor formed his own band “Chiodo” and they soon were perfoming all over Victoria and southern NSW. Trevor now
became a full-time performer and soon they were in the recording studio. The first EP release was “Requests” and the tracks were covers of
popular songs and gained lots of radio airplay. The second EP, recorded in 1976, was titled “Encore”.The band’s popularity increased and
demand for an album grew. “Funny Familiar Forgotten Feelings” became radio 3BA’s ‘album of the year’ and gained airplay in many parts of
the country The album was reviewed by Feyne Weaver (Herald Sun) who described Trevor “as having one of the finest voices in Australia
with the ability to make it overseas”.
Next came the very popular “Red Red Wine” Album, and with a contract with CBS, was released nationally and had radio airplay all over
Australia. With television exposure the band had a hit on their hands. More TV followed with appearances on “Six Tonight”, “Good Morning
Melbourne”, “The Ernie Sigley Show”, “The Mike Walsh Show” and others. By this stage Trevor was in constant demand and his schedule
included radio interview almost daily.
Then came his biggest hit - “Come Share the Wine”. Trevor & Chiodo were performing five and six nights a week, country music festivals,
cabaret work, rock & roll shows as well as television appearances. It was about this time Trevor took a break from the gruels of full-time
performing, but after a few years he was back with another album, “It’s Been So Long”. More television exposure and radio airplay brought a
new band, “The Trevor Gleeson Show Band”. With some of the best musicians in Australia they were off performing all over Australia.
With his roots firmly in country music, Trevor had always wanted to record a country album and “The Country Side of Trevor Gleeson” was
created and received great reviews and Trevor was soon on the country music circuit promoting and performing to huge audiences. Then
another album titled “Impressions” was released, featuring a lot of new songs written by Mike Carmody, an Australian songwriter, as well as
some favourites.
Trevor has released a couple of DVD’s, “Remember the Goodtimes” and “Remember the Good Times Vo.2” featuring some clips and
television performances from his career and also a DVD of some early live performances “Trevor Gleeson in Concert”.
A new CD “The Best of...” has just been released - featuring some of Trevor’s most popular tracks recorded over the years....
